Dashwood Out of School Club opened its doors for the first time in January 1999.

The club was originally owned by Dashwood After School Club Management Committe until Dawn Cothier became the owner in 2008. Dawn has managed the running of the club since its opening in 1999.

Our aim was to provide good quality, affordable after school childcare for working and studying parents. We quickly found that local children also desired a safe, welcoming environment to play.
Within the first year of being registered to care for 16 children we found we needed to increase our registration to 24 children. In 2005 we needed to increase that number to 32.

We also found a need for a Breakfast Club and then a Holiday Playscheme, so we are now open from 8am to 6pm 50 weeks of the year.

Our main aim still is and always will be to provide 'Good Quality, Affordable and Fun Childcare'

The aim of Dashwood After School Care Club is:

To provide good quality child-care for working or studying parents and carers.

To offer play opportunities, for children aged between 3 and 11 years, in the local community.

To help every child realise to the full, his or her personal development potentials

To provide a safe and healthy environment for all the children and staff attending the club.

To always reserve a number of spaces for children with special needs.

To promote understanding, respect, acceptance and inclusion of children with special needs and disabilities.

To always be committed to Equality of Opportunity and work toward ensuring all of the activities and employment policies give equal access to all.

To ensure all staff receive relevant training as and when necessary.
